Express and Star: Former Villa boss Alex McLeish today distanced himself from the Scotland job after Craig Levein was sacked as manager. McLeish has been out of work since he was relieved of his duties at Villa after the final game of last season following a nightmare campaign.

Express and Star: Richard Dunne today handed Villa boss Paul Lambert a defensive fitness boost after he returned to first-team training and could even play before the end of the month. It was initially thought the experienced centre-back would be out until the Christmas period having suffered a number of setbacks with his rehabilitation from a groin operation.

Agbonlahor believes Villa will approach the games, starting with Saturday evening's home encounter with Manchester United, full of confidence after his winner at Sunderland over the weekend.
