Fabian Delph is relishing the chance to "tackle" old mate Steve Sidwell in the middle of the park this afternoon.
If Delph and Sidwell are selected today, it would mean a reunion for two players who were great pals at Villa.
Delph, who has made an impressive start to the season, is a firm admirer of Sidwell and thinks the ginger-haired midfielder is a real asset for Fulham.
Delph believes both their games are similar, with plenty of bite evident during games.
Villa's central ace believes the midfield is an important area in the match at Craven Cottage this afternoon.
He said: "Siddie is a great lad. When I arrived at Villa he really welcomed me. He was great to have around the place as a personality and a good midfielder in the ranks too.
"He is a bit similar to myself football-wise - he likes to tackle! Although he is probably a bit better than me at tackling!
"He has got a lot of aggression in his play and so do I so I think we're alike in that aspect.
"I'm sure it will be a tough test in the middle of the park and one we have to master.
"I think Siddie has been playing the last few games for Fulham so whoever is selected to play on the day will be against him. It should be a good battle."
