Fabian Delph has hailed Ashley Westwood as a "terrific player" and backed him to flourish when he gets into the team.
Delph is confident Westwood will handle the top-flight environment after making the step-up from Crewe this summer.
He said: "Ashley is a terrific player technically and he is up there with the best in our team.
"Obviously playing in the lower leagues, I wouldn't knock it and wouldn't change it for anything.
"When I was playing at Leeds, I was playing two games a week and I was comfortable.
"The step up when you come here is massive.
"Myself and Westy are the same age so we can relate to each other. I can see him getting a run in the team very soon and doing well.
"That is the thing with the lower leagues - you play twice a week most of the time and the physical side of it is really up there. Everybody is fit. Everybody is willing to make a tackle.
"When you make the step up it is a bit nicer but it is a lot more technical and you have got to adjust to that. You don't do that overnight but to be fair the players we have brought in, like Westy, they have adapted really well.
"The lads who have come in have earned the right to get the move and to be at the club because of what they have done at their previous club.
"At first there might be a few nerves for certain people but you just get on with it and treat it like a game of football.
"Everybody is in it together and with the squad that we've got, there is an average age of around 22 or 23. We are all young lads with fire in our bellies and everybody wants to help each other and push on."
Make sure you're here to back the boys against Norwich City.
