Marc Albrighton has thanked the Villa fans for giving him a rousing reception on his return to action - and he has backed them to carry on raising the roof this season.
Albrighton made his start of the campaign in last weekend's draw against West Bromwich Albion.
The Tamworth-born winger admitted it was an amazing feeling to make his Villa Park return in an intense derby atmosphere.
And he hopes the claret and blue faithful will continue to be at their vociferous best.
"It has been a frustrating time sitting on the sidelines but it is great to be back out there and to come back into a derby atmosphere was fantastic," he said.
"The fans were great, the whole of the stadium made noise and it was great to play in an atmosphere such as that.
"Hopefully it will continue throughout the season."
Albrighton felt Villa should have bagged all three points against West Brom.
But he believes positive results against the Baggies and Manchester City in consecutive games have given them plenty to build on going into Sunday's showdown at Tottenham Hotspur.
"It probably turned out to be a good point in the end after we went behind to a sloppy goal," added Albrighton.
"We thought we had chances to win the game but after we went behind I think we have got to take it as a good point.
"We have had a couple of good results now. West Brom are flying this year so it is not all down after that game.
"Maybe going into the game we wanted all three but we have got to take a point out of that."
