By Dan Harrison

Paul Lambert has made six changes for this evening's Capital One Cup clash at Manchester City.

Left-back Joe Bennett makes his first Villa start in place of Eric Lichaj, while Shay Given lines up against his former club in place of American keeper Brad Guzan.

Fabian Delph, Charles N'Zogbia, Gabby Agbonlahor and Andreas Weimann also come in to the starting XI for Barry Bannan, Stephen Ireland, Brett Holman and Darren Bent.

There is also a return to the squad for Marc Albrighton following a foot injury.

The Tamworth-born winger is on the bench after recovering from a broken metatarsal suffered on the first day of pre-season training.

City have also made a host of changes with former Villa duo Gareth Barry and James Milner both in Roberto Mancini's starting line-up.

Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli lead the line for the home side.

MAN CITY: Pantilimon, Nastasic, Toure, Rodwell, Milner, Barry, Kolarov, Razak, Tevez, Suarez, Balotelli. Subs: Wright, Lescott, Evans, Helan, Sinclair, Dzeko, Scapuzzi.

VILLA: Given, Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Bennett, El Ahmadi, Delph, N'Zogbia, Agbonlahor, Weimann, Benteke. Subs: Guzan, Baker, Bent, Albrighton, Lichaj, Herd, Bannan.
