Tweeting Albrighton: You shouldn't follow me on Twitter!

By Paul Brown

Marc Albrighton says there's a load of Marc Albrighton Twitter accounts you shouldn't follow - including his own!

Albrighton admits @12Albrighton was an official account - until he forgot his own password.

He's advised supporters - all 81,246 of them - to ditch following that account and start checking the updates on @RealMarc12.

That's the new one he's created and he says he won't need to change again because he's keeping his personal tweet details under lock and key.

He said: "The official one is now @RealMarc12.

"There's a few fakes one knocking about. I've never understood the sense in doing that.

"I created one a while back but then I lost the password so I had to start all over again. What a nightmare!

"I've got it safe now - it's in a little drawer under lock and key!

"I enjoy using it. You don't get praise all the time, you can get criticism but that's what you expect.

"You don't want to be bigged up all the time.

"I just think if it's used in the right way, you can have great banter and a lot of fun.

"It's also important to realise that you're a footballer in the spotlight so you have to be responsible with what you say.

"A lot of people read what you're tweeting so you have to make sure your comments are honest but also sensible."

Albrighton says his favourite football Twitter account is that of close Villa pal Eric Lichaj.

He added: "There are some good accounts in the dressing room. I know Ron tweets, Charles too as well as Herdy and Benty.

"But I'd recommend Eric, primarily because his missus puts pictures on there from time to time of him in the kitchen cooking his steaks! That's one to look out for."
