Darren Bent believes Matt Lowton has what it takes to play for England one day.
Bent has been immensely impressed with the form of Lowton since his arrival at Villa.
That's especially true considering the right-back moved up two steps from League One to the Barclays Premier League.
Lowton excelled in the game against Swansea, bagging a sensational opening goal in the 2-0 win.
Bent insists Lowton hasn't looked out of place in the cut-and-thrust of the top-flight and has what it takes to eventually star for his country.
He said: "Matt has settled in really well and he gives absolutely everything he's got in every game.
"I didn't know much about him before he joined us but he has been really impressive in training and in matches.
"In fact, it's hard to believe he's stepped up two divisions. I get the feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of him in the coming months.
"It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't follow in the footsteps of another former Blades player Kyle Walker, who was on loan here and is now England's first-choice right-back."
