Christian Benteke spoke with real delight about his debut goal in claret and blue and then warned: "That's just the start!"
Benteke came on for Villa in the final twenty minutes of the epic encounter with Swansea.
Leading 1-0 at the time thanks to a Matt Lowton screamer, Benteke put the icing on the cake with a goal which owed much to quick-thinking.
Benteke was thrilled to open his account.
He said: "I was very happy. It was my first game with my new club and I scored!
"I had a good feeling when I scored and after the game when we won.
"The fans gave me a lot of respect when I came on to the field. I had to do my job on the field and do my best.
"At the end of the game, I was happy because I scored and we took all three points.
"It's only the start. Now I have to keep on going and continue to work.
"Everyone was happy in the dressing room because we know Swansea is a good team, with good players.
"We took three points at home. They were important points. Everyone is happy."
Benteke revealed learning the language and preparing for next weekend's Saints clash are top of his priorities.
He added: "I have got to know everybody. Now I have to learn my English!
"Southampton is the next game. That will also be difficult. We have to train hard and be ready for that one."
