Joe Bennett has confirmed his move to Villa in time for the Swansea game - on Twitter!
Up until this week, Bennett's biography on the social media site still referenced him playing for Middlesbrough.
Twitter is fraught with difficulties when changing personal profile settings on a smartphone.
With Bennett's laptop stuck in the north-east, it looked like his claret and blue move wouldn't be tweet-ratified for Saturday.
But he managed to hop online these past few days after heartfelt requests from Villa fans.
He said: "It was weird changing my biography information from Middlesbrough to Villa.
"I explained to fans that I couldn't do it for a while because it's not easy to sort on your phone.
"My laptop has been back home but I had loads of Villa fans on there telling me to change it quickly.
"Thankfully I have managed to get it done."
Bennett is an avid user of the popular social media site as he interacts with supporters as well as giving updates on his life inside and outside of football.
He sees it as a valuable tool.
He added: "I love using Twitter. It's really important and great if used in the right way. It can be really beneficial.
"You can chat to fans and make them feel like they're close to the players they support each week.
"To be able to answer a question, retweet something or just acknowledge them is great. I think it's a really good way to communicate.
"Twitter is clearly massive among Villa fans! The amount of welcome messages I got on Twitter when news broke that I was signing was absolutely unbelievable.
"I must have had thousands of messages from supporters just wishing me well, welcoming me, telling me about the club - just being really supportive. I really appreciated that.
"There were just so many! That was really pleasing."
