Matt Lowton is happy to take orders from Ron Vlaar because of his experience - and because he doesn't want to cross him!
Lowton spoke of his admiration for the way Vlaar has settled into the back four following his move from Feyenoord.
But Villa's specialist right-back has also been impressed with the way the Holland international has been barking out instructions to the rest of the backline since the transfer.
Lowton said: "Ron has been telling me where to go and what to do and I've just accepted it to be honest because he's a big man and I don't want to cross him!
"But he's a fantastic defender, playing alongside Ciaran Clark aswell, he has fitted in straight away.
"We need to take it into the rest of the season now.
"Ron's got good English and he's always talking because he's an experienced international.
"He's pulled me about and got me in position and things like that. He's not been here long but a player with that experience, it automatically comes out and when you go on the pitch, he'll talk and he'll command the back four.
"I'm sure with the respect we've got for him then everything will come together and the clean sheets will come.
"I'm a talker on the pitch too. I like to think that I can help organising things also."
