Darren Bent hopes Villa begin an illuminating season on the road with a win at West Ham - after giving the away kit his thumbs-up.
Villa will "glow in the dark" on their travels this term with a lime green second strip.
Bent, who's right in form after banging in two against Bremen in the final warm-up game, is relishing donning the eye-catching top at Upton Park.
Villa have won two of their three pre-season clashes in the effervescent jerseys.
Bent hopes Villa continue this red hot form in the "cool" tops.
He said: "The away kit is good. I really like it.
"When you initially hear about the colour, it's a bit of a shock to hear its lime green because it's so unusual.
"But since we've worn it, we've really liked it as a team. I think it looks cool too.
"We're winning matches also. We've won two of the three matches when we've worn it.
"When you think about it logically, no-one minds what colour you're wearing as long as you're winning!
"I know the fans are really getting into the away kit with the 'glow in the dark' songs on their travels.
"But the bottom line for them, I'm sure, is us getting the results. That's what they care about.
"We start our away campaign at West Ham on the opening day and we're really looking forward to it.
"We are all up for it and ready to go.
"It's a new day and a new dawn now for Aston Villa. We have a new manager and players who are really optimistic about the coming campaign.
"We're behind him 100%. We are ready to back him and we'll do whatever he wants us to do."
