Ian Taylor proved to be a glutton for punishment on the final day of Villa's whistle-stop visit to Philadelphia as part of the USA Tour.

Club ambassador Taylor took on a meat-eating challenge of epic proportions - and came out of it fairly unscathed.

Taylor attempted to eat the Ultimate Philly Cheesesteak at Tony Luke's in Philadelphia, made famous by the television show Man v Food.

It was a brilliantly brave attempt from Taylor as he got stuck into the delicacy, which is a 5lb cheesesteak with 3lb of beef, 1lb of American cheese and stuffed inside a 20-inch roll topped with a half-pound of fried onions.

Days before, Taylor warmed up for the challenge by eating a steak the size of his dinner plate.

But on this occasion the mammoth meal proved too much, with the legendary midfielder scoffing only a third of the nosh.

However, he was handed a warm round of applause from diners for his valiant efforts.
