Villa's star players were put through their paces as they trained in the Philadelphia sunshine.

Villa touched down in the City of Brotherly Love late afternoon Monday US time before hitting their beds.

Then it was up the following morning for their first session of the USA Tour, which will also take in Chicago and Portland.

The likes of Darren Bent, Karim El Ahmadi, Matt Lowton, Gabby Agbonlahor and Brett Holman all had the heat on their back at the Novacare Centre, headquarters of American Football franchise Philadelphia Eagles.

Fitness guru Adrian Lamb warmed the guys up in the scorching temperatures before they worked under the expert eye of Paul Lambert, alongside assistants Ian Culverhouse and Gary Karsa.

Villa, of course, were getting set for the first of their trio of matches, which will take place at 7.30pm US Time Wednesday/12.30am UK Time Thursday against Philadelphia Union.

Neville Williams, club photographer, was handed exclusive access to snap away as the lads trained.
