Darren Bent has backed Andreas Weimann to fire in the goals for Villa next season - because he has both the talent and tenacity needed to succeed.
Bent is a big admirer of Weimann, having trained with him for a full season.
Villa's record-signing thinks the Austrian ace is "one hell of a finisher."
But, allied to that, Bent says Weimann has the "hunger" to get better and better.
Weimann is racing to be fit for the start of the season as he recovers from the knee injury he picked up in the home game with Tottenham.
When he does return, Bent is adamant Villa will benefit from his presence.
He said: "Andy is one of the best natural finishers I have seen for a long, long time.
"When he's in training he just never seems to miss the target. He's always on the scoresheet.
"He has all the attributes to be a top, top striker. I was impressed with him when he came to the fore at the end of the previous season and I think he can take that on when the new campaign begins.
"He reminds me quite a lot of Dean Ashton. He was one hell of a finisher before he unfortunately had to retire and so is Andy.
"He has all the credentials and I am tipping him to be a top, top player.
"These are the kind of guys you want to see succeed. They work so hard and they have that hunger to make it and succeed.
"He works hard in training and he's always listening and taking things in. That's brilliant to see.
"It's great training with the young lads like Andy and I enjoy giving them advice too, anything that might help them."
