Stephen Warnock believes Villa's band of brothers can see off Stoke - thanks to the family feel in camp.
Warnock says the team spirit is incredible at Villa and has been enhanced as a result of Stan Petrov's sad health news.
Villa's versatile left-sided star says the diagnosis has brought the already-matey squad even closer together.
He believes the "heart and desire" on show against Liverpool will see Villa through to safety in the remaining seven games of the campaign.
He told AVTV: "There's togetherness about the squad. We are close anyway but with everything that has gone on in recent days it's bought us even closer.
"It's a great atmosphere around the place. It's spot on.
"There's a great mood and spirit here in the camp. It's great going in each day at Bodymoor. All the lads love going in. I certainly do.
"There's great banter in the changing room. If we can keep that team spirit we will be fine.
"It's important to get something against Stoke now.
"Results went for us elsewhere after the Liverpool game so it was a vital point and pulled us a bit away. Psychologically it was massive for us.
"The Stoke game is massive. We need three points. If we put that kind of performance in and shows those energy levels, hopefully we will get the right result.
"It's all about recovery now with the game coming so soon after this one."
