Cuellar reveals comeback delight in exclusive AVTV interview

Carlos Cuellar couldn't hide his joy after donning a Villa shirt for the first time since April in the reserve team's 1-0 win over Chelsea.

The Spanish defender spoke to AVTV following his return in the clash at Hinckley United.

It was the 30-year-old's first match action since undergoing surgery at the end of last season to correct a torn meniscus in his right knee.

Cuellar played 45 minutes of the second string encounter and he spoke of plans to step up his match fitness in the coming weeks.

He discussed the emotional feeling of stepping out on to a football pitch for the first time in five months, the frustration of being sidelined for such a long period and his desire to fight for a first team place.

The man from Madrid also assessed the reserve team victory - including the bright performances of fledgling forwards Callum Robinson and Jack Grealish.
