Goalkeeper Parish makes loan move to Lincoln

Elliot Parish has joined Lincoln City on loan until the end of the season.

The goalkeeper will have the chance to gain some valuable first team experience by linking up with the League Two outfit on a youth loan basis.

Although the 20-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for Villa, he has experience of being around the first team setup having travelled with the squad during pre-season and in the Europa League.

Parish arrived at Villa as a schoolboy and went on to become the regular keeper for the U18s during their league championship-winning season in 2007-08.

This term, he has gone on to establish himself as Villa's regular reserve team goalkeeper.

The Northampton-born custodian has also been capped at youth level and was hailed by England coach Brian Eastick as one of the stars of the 2009 World U20 Cup in Egypt.

Parish follows in the footsteps of fellow academy stars Nathan Baker, Chris Herd and Eric Lichaj who all spent time on loan at Lincoln last season.

The Imps, managed by Steve Tilson, are currently 17th in League Two and appear to be well clear of relegation with nine games remaining.
