Fabio Capello paid tribute to the claret and blue class of Darren Bent and Ashley Young after their match-winning displays against Denmark.
England supremo Capello was delighted with the 2-1 friendly win over the dangerous Danes and especially pleased with the performances of Villa pair Bent and Young.
Both scored goals and put in excellent displays as the result gave England a well-timed boost, with Euro 2012 qualifying set to resume next month.
Capello said: "Darren played well and worked hard to help the team.
"It's a different position to where he plays for Villa but he scored a goal and had chances for a second.
"In this position, behind the frontman, Young is really good because he is free.
"He can run where he wants. He has to defend as well but he is really fast, technically good, and dangerous for the opponents."
Meanwhile, Bent was delighted to score and get a full international game under his belt for the Three Lions.
He added: "I was happy to get 90 minutes. Fabio thought it was right to start me and I managed to get a goal and I was pleased with the performance."
The former Sunderland striker believes his January move to Villa Park has only enhanced his England claims.
"Since I have been at Villa things have been going right. Fabio told me it has helped my England chances by going to Villa and that was proved by him starting me."
