Gerard Houllier has been boosted by the news Richard Dunne, Marc Albrighton and Emile Heskey are fit again, ahead of the trip to Sunderland.
Albrighton [sickness] and Heskey [back] both missed out on the Chelsea clash at Villa Park while Dunne [ankle] limped off early on.
But the terrific trio have all returned to training this week and boss Houllier should have them available for the clash at the Stadium of Light.
Meanwhile, Luke Young [hamstring] and Gabby Agbonlahor [groin] both miss the trip up north.
Houllier said: "Richard has trained normally. Marc trained from Monday. He didn't do everything on Monday but by Tuesday and Wednesday he was fine.
"Emile is much better. He did normal training yesterday.
"I hope at some stage with Gabby he may be able to train normally next week. He won't be involved this weekend.
"The doctor has told me Luke needs at least two weeks because it's a minor tear. It is worse than initially thought. We thought it was a spasm or contraction."
