Premier League Primary Stars is a cross-curricular programme delivered by the Aston Villa Foundation which uses the appeal of the football club to inspire primary school children and motivate teachers in a variety of subjects.
The programme aims to stimulate children from key stages 1 and 2 to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
Each lesson is delivered through a combination of physical activity (kinaesthetic learning) and classroom based activities to enhance subjects such as English and maths.
The programme also benefits teachers through a one-to-one mentoring scheme in delivering high-quality physical education lessons.
The Teacher Development initiative offers on the ground, in-action support whereby a teacher is actively engaged in being mentored towards acquiring new knowledge, feedback, ideas or advice by a trained developer in teaching the subject.
Below are the key subjects covered by Aston Villa Foundation’s Premier League Primary Stars delivery.
• Phonics Stars (KS1)
• Reading Stars (KS2)
• Healthy Stars (KS1 & KS2)
• Maths Stars (KS1 & KS2)
• Enterprise Stars (KS2)
• Teacher Development Programme (Physical Education- CPD)
We are always on the lookout to partner with new schools in the local area.
