The Aston Villa Foundation offers boys aged 16-19 the chance to study toward a career in sport while representing the club in the EFL community and Education Alliance League.
The Boys’ Football and Education Course, which runs in partnership with Shelfield Community Academy, sees students study for a Level 3 diploma in Sport and Physical Activities.
The course also offers an FA Level 1 Coaching qualification, a Basic First Aid in Sport qualification and voluntary opportunities across Aston Villa FC and Aston Villa Foundation to gain hands-on experience.
Throughout the duration of the programme, students will be developed as coaches and sports industry professionals as well as footballers.
The team will train twice a week under the guidance of FA Level 3 Coaches, preparing them for a league and cup programme in the EFL community and Education Alliance League.
Wearing the Aston Villa kit in games, the team will play against other professional clubs.
Trials for the next academic year are held throughout the season.
