Matchday Security

£9.53 per hour
Part time, variable hours (first team home games, including weekends and evenings)
Closing date: Sunday 9th September 2018
Interviews date: Week commencing 24th September 2018 (evening)

Aston Villa Football Club are currently recruiting for Matchday Security to join our Security team.  Based at Villa Park, the successful candidates will play a vital role in creating a safe and enjoyable matchday experience for our customers in and around the stadium.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Attending briefings with Senior Security prior to matches
  • Providing a Matchday Security presence to various locations at Villa Park including gates, entrance doors, car parks and other locations as directed by the appropriate Senior Security Officer.
  • Providing a high level of customer service in a friendly and courteous manner including checking identity and authorisation to enter the stadium
  • To perform searches of individuals and bags when required
  • Controlling queues and the ability to address any issues and disorder promptly and performing ejections if necessary
  • Managing any conflict that arises from enforcement of ground regulations in a calm and professional manner, escalating issues to the Senior Security Officer as necessary
  • Completing incident forms for all incidents and passing to the Senior Security Officer

Skills and experience required:

  • Must be 18 years of age or over due to legislation
  • SIA accreditation or working towards this qualification
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • A highly customer focused approach

Youth Development Phase Coach 

Part time (including evenings and weekends) 
Fixed term contract until 31st May 2019

Aston Villa Football Club Academy are looking to recruit a self motivated, committed, confident and enthusiastic individual to join the Academy in the role of a part-time Youth Development Phase Coach.  

Working in a high-quality learning environment and based on the club's Football Philosophy as directed by the Academy Manager and Head of Coaching, the coach will play an important role in helping to nurture and develop the club's young players through the Youth Development Phase.

The coach will be required to liaise with the Academy Manager, Head of Coaching and Lead Phase Coach to ensure all areas highlighted in the job description are fulfilled, in order to ensure the successful development and progression of the club’s players through the Youth Development Phase. 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • To have the ability to work effectively within a high-quality learning and teaching environment
  • To have the ambition and desire to be an excellent Youth Development Phase Coach
  • To adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure the wellbeing and holistic development of the Youth Development Phase Players
  • To attend, supervise and deliver coaching/teaching sessions as stipulated by the Head of Coaching and Lead Phase Coach
  • To deliver and evaluate an elite level of coaching/teaching while working within the club's coaching philosophy and framework
  • Help to prepare, deliver and record players' individual learning plans
  • Working closely with various Academy departments and using a multi-disciplinary approach help to prepare, deliver and record the players six-weekly reviews
  • To ensure that all the relative administration is completed and kept up-to-date
  • To attend the relevant Football Association/Premier League/Football League and Aston Villa CPD events
  • To take responsibility for their own learning and to keep up to date with modern trends and developments within the young player age bands that they are working
  • Maintain your highest UEFA Coaching Licence plus any other relevant qualifications and awards
  • To establish positive working relationships and high standards of behaviour with players, staff, parents and schools
  • To have excellent communication skills
  • To adhere to the club Codes of Conduct
  • To ensure the club's philosophy, culture, values and vision are communicated and adhered to at all times
  • Help to ensure the Academy is continually achieving the standards required to retain its category status within the EPPP guidelines
  • Help to ensure that all policies, practises and procedures relating to the safeguarding of young people are implemented
  • To be responsible for the Academy resources associated with training sessions and matchdays

Essential requirements

  • UEFA B Licence 
  • FA Youth Award Modules 1,2 & 3  
  • Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) Certificate
  • Experience of working within an Academy Foundation Phase
  • A clear understanding, knowledge and experience of the EPPP environment
  • Competent IT skills
  • Maintain membership of the FA Licence Coaching Club
  • A clean driving licence 

Desirable requirements

  • FA Advanced Youth Award
  • UEFA A Licence
  • Playing experience at a good standard
