Video Producer Editor

Reporting to the Video Production Manager, you will help deliver outstanding video products for our audience. 

Working from matchday, training ground and office environments you will be able to quickly identify, capture, edit and produce sporting stories that resonate with our fans.

We are looking for a Video Producer Editor that is an excited and skilled moving image and social video practitioner; one that has a diverse sporting and media production background that can be used as reference for a fresh perspective on club challenges. 

Individuals who possess a strong visual instinct and a refined story sense should apply immediately.

Your output will work across all user–facing channels, bringing the best moving image stories and products to fans across the world.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for filming content in and around a football environment
  • May include action footage, player and manager interviews, press conferences, shows, features and match-day activities
  • Assembling, preparing and setting up equipment and lighting prior to filming
  • Working in both single and multi-camera operational conditions, you will be asked to combine your knowledge of technology with creative visual skills
  • Responsible for producing & editing raw material into a finished product suitable for broadcast across all of Aston Villa’s video platforms
  • Additional post-production responsibilities may include grading/colouring footage, correcting footage, editing audio, creating graphical elements
  • Such video platforms include the club’s online subscription service (AVTV), Aston Villa’s official YouTube channel
  • This position would also include the production of videos for internal use

Essential skills and experience required

  • A wide-ranging television & digital media experience• Highly proficient in the use of HD video camera equipment
  • Ability to function as one person shoot/edit/presenting crew
  • Script/prepare/plan interviews and content formats for video output
  • Proficient in the use of Mac products and software
  • Extensive knowledge of television/film production
  • Ability to recognize the most suitable shot for any occasion and an understanding of the visual impact created by particular shots
  • Ability to frame and compose shots and perform camera moves accurately
  • Ability to find solutions to technical and practical problems
  • When filming on location, for example, it is particularly important to deal with any light and sound issues
  • Experience working with content specifically destined for Asian media channels
  • Mandarin / Chinese language skills are desirable

HVAC and Refrigeration Engineer/Maintenance Technician 

(40 hours per week, including evening and weekend matchdays) 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experience HVAC and Refrigeration Engineer/ Maintenance Technician, to join Aston Villa Football Club, based at Villa Park. 

The purpose of the role is to work as a member of the Facilities team with the responsibility for refrigeration and HVAC systems across the club’s estate. 

The ideal candidate will possess a multi-skill approach to the daily working routine which will include carrying out other maintenance duties and supporting other colleagues on projects.

Key responsibilities

  • Working on and maintaining systems of various ages and keeping records and data in relation to statutory requirements and advising the Head of Facilities & Estates of phased replacement program for budgeting planning
  • Provide technical maintenance and repair service of air conditioning and related systems (including comfort cooling and cellar refrigeration) including HVAC systems
  • Assist in providing maintenance support for refrigeration and HVAC equipment throughout the business

Job responsibility will include

  • Develop and carry out a planned preventative and response maintenance programme and ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines and regulations
  • Through planning and using own initiative minimise the risk of mechanical failure and breakdown
  • Act effectively to undertake remedial works
  • To provide on-site general and skilled labour support to the Facilities team, including match day support, as required
  • Provide technical and maintenance support to the Facilities department as and when required
  • To offer your full support to general maintenance tasks to help support the upkeep of the stadium 

Key skills and experience required

  • Level 2 C&G qualification in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
  • F-Gas qualification
  • Experience in the use of hand tools and general maintenance skills is desirable 
  • Excellent practical skills
  • Problem solving & work prioritisation skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation

Electrician – Multi Skilled Maintenance 

(40 hours per week, including evening and weekend matchdays) 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experience electrician to join Aston Villa Football Club, based at Villa Park. 

The purpose of the role is to provide a “best in class” electrical systems maintenance with full responsibility for matchdays and key event delivery. 

The role requires you to work as a member of a facilities team which delivers all maintenance requirements to the club, you will be required to carry out and have the basic skills in carpentry, painting and plumbing at a basic skill level.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsibility to ensure all checks are carried out prior to matchdays and ensure that floodlights and all related matchday critical systems are full operational to meet the standards set out by the Premiership and FA
  • To support broadcaster with power supply as and when required and ensure all system work first time every time
  • Preparing agreeing and ownership for delivering critical electrical systems
  • Work with internal and external stake holders when required
  • Be on call for emergencies for events and other electrical system issues
  • Support clients on event builds in relation to electrical supply and advise when required
  • Work with contractors and suppliers on site when required
  • Work with the team to support all areas including across the club estate
  • Carry out basic carpentry, plumbing and painting teas when required
  • Repair seat and carry out inspections in the stadium bowl when required
  • Duties will be varied and you will be expected to work with the team on all aspects of maintenance
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders to ensure operational delivery is achieved

Key skills and experience required

  • 17th Addition Electrical qualification is essential 
  • Proven experience working as an electrician
  • Pat testing, City and Guilds 2391 qualification or equivalent 
  • Computer literate in the following Microsoft programs, including Word and Excel
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Able motivate a team to deliver results 
  • Able to carry out physical basic repairs and maintenance, example changing light bulbs and basic skills in carpentry, painting and plumbing is desirable
  • Team player with a “can do attitude”
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external stake holders
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Experience in sports venue maintenance and facilities deliver is desirable

Foundation Phase Academy Lead Coach

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, committed, confident and enthusiastic individual to join the Aston Villa Football Club Academy as a Foundation Phase Academy Lead Coach. 

Based at our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, the coach will play a highly important role in helping to nurture and develop the club’s young players through the Foundation Phase. 

Working with the Academy Manager and Head of Coaching in a high-quality learning environment, we are looking for someone who can adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure the wellbeing and holistic development of the Academy Foundation and Pre-Academy Phase players.

Key responsibilities

  • Attend, supervise and deliver coaching/teaching sessions as stipulated by the Head of Coaching 
  • Deliver an elite level of coaching and teaching whilst working within the club’s coaching philosophy and framework
  • Help to manage the transition of players that play and practice between the age groups within the Foundation and Pre-Academy phases
  • Manage the Pre-Academy programme and the transition of players into the Foundation Phase
  • Help to prepare, deliver and record players’ individual learning plans
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to keep up to date with modern trends and developments within the elite age brands 
  • Commitment to maintain your highest UEFA Coaching Licence plus any other relevant qualifications and awards 
  • Ability to establish positive working relationships and high standards of behaviour with players, staff and parents
  • Help to ensure the Academy is continually achieving the standards required to retain its Category 1 status within the EPPP guidelines

  • UEFA A License
  • FA Youth Award
  • FA Advanced Youth Award
  • Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) Certificate

Academy Youth Phase Coach

We are looking for an individual with the ambition and desire to be an outstanding Youth Development Phase coach. 

Based at our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground and working with the Academy Manager and Head of Coaching in a high-performance environment, you will lead and be responsible for the overall holistic, management, development and coaching of an age group within the Youth Development Phase.

Key responsibilities

  • Adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure the wellbeing and holistic development of the Academy Youth Development Phase player
  • Attend, supervise and deliver coaching sessions as stipulated by the Head of Coaching and Youth Phase Lead Coach
  • Deliver an elite level of coaching whilst working within the club’s coaching philosophy and framework
  • Help to manage the transition of players that play and train between the age groups within the Youth Development Phase

  • Ensure that all relative administration is completed and kept up to date
  • Attend relevant Football Association, Premier League, Football League and Aston Villa CPD events

  • Maintain your highest UEFA Coaching Licence plus any other relevant qualifications and awards
