Foundation and Community Manager

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

The Foundation and Community Manager is a critical role in the organisation and will lead on the daily operations of the Aston Villa Foundation for both grant-funded and income generating activities. The postholder will direct the Programmes and Project Managers, whilst supporting all other staff to ensure effective delivery of Foundation business to the highest standards.  

The Foundation and Community Manager will work closely with the Head of Foundation in providing strategic direction for the organisation and to drive a proactive approach to the continued growth, development and sustainability of the charity.

Key Responsibilities:

• To provide direct line management and inspirational leadership for Foundation programme managers and delivery staff, leading to an empowered and motivated workforce
• Work with key stakeholders locally, nationally and internationally ensuring strong and effective relationships, whilst identifying new partnership opportunities to increase the Foundation’s work and visibility
• To support with the development of the Aston Villa Foundation’s strategic and business plans, linking staff objectives and supervision to help meet organisational priorities
• Identify and generate grant-funding, partnership and commercial opportunities to support new projects and initiatives to help the Foundation achieve its business and strategic objectives
• To support the Head of Foundation and programmes managers with compiling and monitoring annual operational and departmental budgets, whilst supporting future financial planning
• Work through identifying and obtaining external grant funding, and leading on project implementation and monitoring and evaluation requirements

Key Skills and Experience required:

• A university degree or equivalent higher education qualification is desirable 
• Recognised qualification in management and leadership is desirable
• Relevant managerial experience in a related industry - for example, sport for development, football club community organisation, community sport charity, community development charity is desirable. 
• A strong track record in securing grant funding and generating sustainable income streams
• Experience of managing large grant monitoring and evaluation requirements, as well as wider impact measurement oversight
• Significant experience of overseeing the development and delivery of a broad portfolio of high-quality programmes across the sport, health, education, disability and young people’s sectors
• Previous experience with developing organisational strategies, executing annual service plans and meeting key performance indicators
• A track record of building and managing successful partnerships and external stakeholder engagement
• An ability to connect and resonate with a wide range of stakeholders including local communities
• Exceptional motivational skills, with an ability to inspire and lead a team

Retail Contracts Manager

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Aston Villa Football Club have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Retail Contracts Manager to join the Commercial Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving development and maintaining strong effective relationships with the Club’s retail partner. Reporting into the Chief Commercial Officer, this role will play a vital role in expanding retail revenues and ensuring the Aston Villa brand is protected by producing quality products. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Management and delivery of the Fanatics contract in accordance with the key terms and key deliverables.
• Responsibility for delivering of the UK retail strategy through our retail partner looking at new opportunities/channels and a clear understanding of the store operations and Online functions.
• Responsible for setting and managing the retail P&L
• Working with our retail partner to oversee product development and the approval process to ensure that AVFC merchandise is innovative and of the highest quality to drive revenue.
• Oversee the official kit approvals and launches, ensuring they are managed in a timely and effective manner and that all relevant stakeholders are appropriately consulted.
• Working with our Retail partner to develop string relationships with external retail buyers and market place contacts to grow the AVFC sales, seek out new opportunities and maintain visibility in UK and overseas markets.
• Working with the Marketing Manager, Head of Digital, Head of Data/Insight and retail partner to increase traffic, streamlining user journeys, offering multiple payment & language options and optimsing conversion.
• Work with Retail Contracts Executive to ensure all kit orders are managed and delivered on time.
• Analysing sales figures daily and generate weekly management dashboards and sales reports.
• Working with Retail Partner to ensure that service levels are achieved and looking for ways to improve standards.

Key Skills and Experience required:

• Track record of driving sales growth in a retail focused environment
• Experience of product production process
• Proven ability to analyse previous sales behaviour and market trends to deliver revenue growth
• Proven track record of sourcing new business
• Strong commercial acumen
• Understanding of merchandising planning
• Proactive with the ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
• A confident communicator capable of inspiring strong collaboration with the club
• Excellent organisational and planning skills
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Report writing
• Experience of working in highly confidential environments
• Able to display tact and diplomacy
• Advanced Excel skills desirable

Partnership Account Manager 

(Fixed Term until 31 July 2019)
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, Partnership Account Manager to work within our Partnerships Team based at Villa Park. The ideal candidate with have experience managing Partners from on boarding all the way through to renewal. You will lead by example, champion the partnerships team both internally and externally and act as ambassador of Aston Villa Football Club.

Key Responsibilities:

• To own, maintain and develop key AVFC partner accounts; coordinate weekly status meeting and deliver monthly status reports to each account
• To manage the departmental budget by ensuring owned partner accounts are organised and expenditures are tracked
• To services to understand the efficiency and profitability margins of each owned account
• Report regularly and effectively to the Head of Partner Acquisition & Partnership Services to ensure owned partner accounts are being successfully managed, rights are utilised and relationship with the partner remains strong
• Coordination with key stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure day-to-day maintenance of accounts is conducted in an efficient and timely manner, and to make appropriate recommendations to Head of Partner Acquisition & Partnership Services where necessary
• Work with internal departments and external agencies to ensure that all Partner activities are captured and measured. Track activations demonstrate successes and provide constructive feedback to internal and external stakeholders
• Design and carry out surveys to track fan sentiment and awareness. Analyse survey data and prepare reports of data findings for internal and external stakeholders
• Supporting in developing a series of partner events to engage the full roster, this may include; partner dinner, networking and an industry forum for knowledge share. Support will include agreeing format and content of the event series to maximize partner engagement
• Lead quarterly and end of season reviews for owned accounts 

Key skills and experience required: 

• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Experience of managing multiple client accounts, preferably in a sponsorship or marketing environment
• Process driven with strong analytical and research skills
• Able to work to tights deadlines and manage multiple projects within timescales
• Ability to follow key trends and apply them and integrate them into a strategic approach
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Possession of level of gravitas with ability to confidently present business cases to senior management
• Ability to be flexible with work duties and hours as required by the team and business
• Good attention to detail and takes responsibility for the accuracy of their work
• Experience of creating and delivering events

Telesales Executive

Salary: £18,000+ OTE 

We have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, target driven Telesales Executive to work within our Hospitality Team based at Villa Park. We are looking to strengthen our hospitality team with a highly motivated individual with a proven sales track record to play an integral role, generating new business leads to increase revenue for our hospitality services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Calling prospective customers to win new business using targeted customer data and supported by targeted marketing campaigns.
• Accurately forecasting and delivering against revenue targets.
• Focusing on the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of sales activity not just the quantity.
• Using targeted Marketing campaigns to unlock the growth potential in the market.
• Making outbound calls on a business to business level.
• Promoting company products and services.
• Fact finding and investigating customer requirements.
• Passing prospects / leads to the relevant Sales Executive.
• To use all mediums including LinkedIn and other social media to identify leads.

Essential skills and experience required:

• Previous experience with outbound calling business development is preferential.

• Have the desire to succeed in a target driven sales environment.
• Ability to work independently and be self-driven within a team structure.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Experience of working in a sporting club environment desirable.

• The ability to multitask and prioritise appropriately.
