Your focus will be use research to find and develop a point of differentiation for the Club to support the acquisition process. 

To do this you will create and maintain a best-in-class catalogue of industry, brand and sports marketing landscape reports that will inform and truly tailor our sales approaches to all prospects that we engage with. 

You will also assist in the development of acquisition proposals including all supporting data, sales materials, and assisting with or owning the pitch and close process where required.

You will also understand how to effectively undertake competitive intelligence and market research activities.

Partnership Account Manager

The partner services team are responsible for driving and influencing every touch point between the club, the fans and the brand partner through on-site activation, online & omnichannel engagement and sale of the partners’ products & services through our channels and those of the partners’. 

Our purpose as a commercial team is to embed data, analysis and insight into the DNA of the business, delivering knowledgeable and accelerated growth.  

In order to achieve this, we must be the BEST at catering to the needs of our partners and so subsequently require a candidate with strong understanding of data, activation and reporting. 

Your focus will be to shape and lead the successful management of key club partners, from onboarding all the way through to renewals. 

You will need to take a 360° approach to account management, including; developing strong relationships, defining partnership objectives, delivering a schedule of successful activations across multiple platforms and ultimately ensure ROI for all accounts. 

Your focus will be partnership performance. 

You will be responsible for evidencing activation success and informing the way in which we work, by taking an analytical approach to internal data and the wider industry practises.

You will be required to showcase your own good practices but continue to strive and learn how to develop outstanding practices, to achieve our team goal of defining impeccable industry standards. 

You will need to lead by example, champion the partnerships team both internally and externally and be an ambassador of Aston Villa Football Club.

Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach (17-23 Age Groups)

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, committed, confident and enthusiastic individual to join the Aston Villa Football Club Academy as an Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach (17-23 age groups). 

Based at our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground, you will work with the Head of Coaching, U18 Coach, U23 Coach and First Team Goalkeeping Coach and adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure the wellbeing and holistic development of the Academy/Professional development players.

Key responsibilities

Attend, supervise and deliver coaching sessions at an elite level whilst working within the club’s coaching philosophy and framework
Help to manage the transition of players that play and train between the age groups within the Professional Development Phases and secure potential loan opportunities
Help to prepare, deliver and record players individual learn plans
Take responsibility for your own learning and to keep up to date with modern trends and developments within the elite age brands that you will be working within
Maintain your highest UEFA coaching licence plus any other relevant qualifications and awards relevant to the job role
Establish positive working relationships and high standards of behaviour with players, staff and parents
Help to ensure the Academy is continually achieving the standards required to retain its Category 1 status within the EPPP guidelines
Work in conjunction with both Senior and Academy recruitment departments with regards to scouting and recruiting potential player acquisitions and monitor club based loan players both in the UK and abroad as dictated by the Academy Manager, First Team Goalkeeping Coach and Technical Director
Provide in a reasonable timeframe detailed match reports with regards to all aspects of the previous point, both in a verbal and written format
Have responsibility for the overview and direction of the Academy Goalkeeping Developer role in conjunction with the Academy Manager, Head of Academy Recruitment and Head of Coaching
Observe Academy matches on a Sunday within the Youth Development Phase, with a minimum of two per calendar month under the direction of the Academy Manager and Head of Academy Recruitment

Essential qualifications and skills

UEFA B Licence
UEFA B Goalkeeping Licence
FA Advanced Youth Award (Goalkeeping)
Basic First Aid for Sport (BFAS) Certificate
Up to date & clear Disclosure and Baring Service Certificate (DBS)

Academy Goalkeeping Developer (6-16 Age Groups)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, committed, confident and enthusiastic individual to join the Aston Villa Football Club Academy as an Academy Goalkeeping Developer (6-16 Age Group). 

This role will be based at our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground. 

Working with the Academy Youth Development Officer and Academy Head of Recruitment in a high-quality learning environment, we are looking for someone who can adopt a multi-disciplinary approach to ensure the wellbeing and holistic development of the Pre-Academy, Foundation and Youth Phase Academy players.

Key responsibilities

Design, implement and deliver coaching activities in order to increase goalkeeper participation, access and visibility to the Aston Villa Academy including Development Centres, goalkeeping camps, trial events and any other special projects
View potential trialist goalkeepers or player acquisitions as and when directed by the recruitment department, in addition to coaching duties
Demonstrate an ability to work effectively within a high-quality learning and teaching environment
Have the ambition and desire to be an outstanding 6 to 16 years goalkeeping coach
Attend, supervise and deliver coaching/teaching sessions as stipulated by the Head of Coaching and Assistant Academy Manager
Deliver an elite level of coaching/teaching whilst working within the club's coaching philosophy and framework
Help to manage the transition of players that play and practice between the age groups within the Pre-Academy, Foundation and Youth Phases in conjunction with Youth Development Office, Head of Academy Recruitment, Academy Manager, Head of Coaching and Assistant Academy Manager
Manage the pathway and progression of all recruited goalkeepers within the Pre-Academy, Foundation and Youth Phases
Help prepare, deliver and record players individual learn plans within Foundation and Youth phases
Help to prepare, deliver and record the players six weekly reviews
Take responsibility for their own learning and to keep up to date with modern trends and developments within the elite age brands
Maintain your highest UEFA Coaching Licence plus any other relevant qualifications and awards relevant to the job role

General Manager 

35 hours per week (including working evenings and weekends and matchdays) 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager to join Aston Villa Ladies Football Club, based at Villa Park, Bodymoor Heath training ground and Tamworth FC. 

The purpose of the role is to provide an efficient and effective operational, administrative support service for the Aston Villa Ladies management team, as well as play a central role in developing female football across Aston Villa Football Club.  

The post holder will also be responsible for all day-to-day administrative tasks relating to the FA Women's Super League, while working alongside other departments within the Football Club.  

The ideal candidate will be highly organised, motivated, professional and resilient, with excellent communication skills. 

The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate competency in managing a high-volume workload and meeting tight deadlines.

Key responsibilities

  • To be the primary contact for the FA for all league business/meetings – commercial, finance, broadcast, facility and fixture related issues
  • Oversee the development of a Female U18 Football and Education programme
  • To develop relationships with key funding partners to ensure the sustainability of the club
  • To attend all FA WSL meetings on behalf of Aston Villa Ladies first team and development squads
  • Organisation and planning of first team and development fixtures and subsequent management to fulfil fixture lists and support RTC General Manager
  • Coordination of events, marketing and matchday promotion for the Ladies team(s) 
  • Supporting the coaching/senior management team on player recruitment, contracts, registration and associated salary management
  • Budgetary management including overseeing staff and player payroll, purchase orders and invoicing
  • Management of relationship with facility providers around contract management, availability, usage and maintenance plan
  • Responsibility for meeting FA Women’s Super League club licence requirements
  • Introducing fan-based programmes, events and initiatives to appeal to supporters of all ages and encourage their attendance at matches
  • Overseeing player appearances to drive awareness of the club locally and nationally

Essential skills and experience required

  • Experience of working in a general business /management role ideally within a sports club development environment• Experience of third party funding 
  • Experience of working within Ladies football 
  • Organisational skills, good time management and ability to work to strict deadlines
  • Presentation skills, with the ability to conduct presentations to a high level
  • Ability to communicate at all levels internally and with external partners
  • Able to work autonomously and on own initiative
  • Hold a full driving license and have the ability and flexibility to travel to schools is essential
  • Ability to work anti-social hours, being available for all home games (evenings and weekends) 
  • Safeguarding children certificate & enhanced DBS discourse
  • FA Level 3 qualified coach is desirable 
  • FA Tutor is desirable 
  • Experience of working within an FA RTC and/or FA WSL club environment is desirable
