Receptionist (Part Time)

Hours: 28 hours per week plus matchdays (first team home games, including weekends and evenings)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Receptionist (Part Time), based at Villa Park. The Receptionist will provide a professional and friendly front of house service. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience from a similar role.

The role will be part of a strong Reception team who greet all visitors to Villa Park at the main North Stand Reception and other Reception duties across the Clubs Estate as and when required.  You will act as an ambassador for the Club and welcome all that visit the Club in a professional manner to ensure that their experience is a memorable one. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Meet and greet all visitors to reception and ensure all club security protocols are adhered to
  • Give advice to visitors on where to go around the club and liaise with all departments on arrival of visitors for appointments
  • Operate the club switchboard and deal with incoming telephone enquiries
  • Deal with fan enquiries
  • Assist the Senior Receptionist in the delivery of the Reception Services function
  • General administration support for the club as required

Matchday:

  • Available to work all matchdays on any reception areas as directed by the club
  • Meet and greet fans and hospitality customers as required
  • Meet and greet VIPs, players and families as required

Essential skills and experience required:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines
  • Computer literate in the following, Microsoft programmes, including Word, Excel, Power point, Access
  • Team player
  • Can do attitude
  • Be able to communicate with internal & external stakeholders
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Able to communicate with all levels
  • Able to be deal with more difficult requests, queries and challenging enquiries from fans
  • Confidentiality in the position is critical to maintain the high standards that the club requires

Disability Access Officer/Deputy Floor Manager 

Hours: 35 hours per week (including first team home games, weekends and evenings)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Disability Access Officer/Deputy Floor Manager based at Villa Park.  Reporting to the Head of Ticketing Operations, as part of the team you will maintain compliance with all aspects of disability and represent the club to ensure the department has a consistent and professional approach to our fan base.  You will lead and motivate a team of individuals within a busy sales environment.  

Key responsibilities: 

  • Represent the club as Disability Access Officer which will involve attending internal and external meetings
  • Handle all channels of correspondence including calls/messages from the dedicated disabled supporter line
  • Process customer ticket sales onto the ticketing system from incoming and outgoing calls made by the Contact Centre, ticket office or via email
  • Ensure disability best practice is adhered to throughout the department and business
  • Oversee departmental complaints and ensure every complaint is handled within the club’s SLA
  • Ensure preventative measures are put in place wherever possible by sharing information, solutions and providing feedback
  • Ensuring front line staff members are working efficiently and to a high standard at all times
  • Handle escalated calls and provide support and feedback where necessary
  • Ensure that all administrative duties are completed in a timely way and prioritised accordingly by distributing admin time to team members, including planning of lunch breaks
  • Assist with the end of day process in the ticket office. This includes cashing up operators, balancing float back, banking, ensuring main doors are locked and the key is in the safe
  • Deputising for weekend managers as required

Essential skills and experience required: 

  • 4 GCSE’s grade C or equivalent
  • Access Officer experience desirable
  • A knowledge of Disability Compliance is desirable
  • Sales and customer service experience essential
  • Excellent telephone communication skills including active listening and the ability to be assertive and persuasive without being aggressive
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Computer skills are required for efficient documentation and research
  • Highly diligent and tenacious, able to work on own initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible to respond to business needs

Matchday Stewards

£9.53 per hour
Part time, variable hours (first team home games, including weekends and evenings)

Aston Villa Football Club are currently recruiting for Matchday Stewards to join our stewarding team based at Villa Park. 

The club welcomes applications from all sections of the community; in particular the club are seeking to increase their numbers of female stewards. 

The successful candidates will play a vital role in creating a safe, positive and enjoyable matchday experience for our customers in and around the stadium.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Attending briefings with Senior Stewards prior to matches and working in any area as directed by the Chief or Senior Steward
  • Conducting checks of the stand before and after a match
  • Ensuring the safety of all the customers within the allocated area
  • Providing a high level of customer service in a friendly and courteous manner including searching, assisting in finding seats within the stadium and answering any queries
  • Ensuring that all customers adhere to the stadium safety regulations, such as no smoking
  • Managing any conflict that arises from the enforcement of stadium regulations in a calm and professional manner, escalating issues to the Senior Steward as necessary
  • Completing incident forms for all incidents and passing to the Senior Steward

Skills and experience required: 

  • Must be 18 years of age or over due to legislation
  • QCF in Crowd Management/Safety or equivalent - training will be provided
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Highly customer focused approach
