Trezeguet says the Aston Villa squad are keeping their focus solely on the Premier League – despite a big day at Wembley on the horizon.
Six points are up for grabs between now and the Carabao Cup Final, with Sunday’s home encounter against Tottenham Hotspur followed by a trip to play Southampton.
The Egyptian is feeling refreshed after returning from the winter break, and he’s ready to take on Jose Mourinho’s team this weekend.
He said: “We have two big games before the cup final and we’ll be ready for them.
“Making the final has given us a lot of confidence and the players are working very hard.
“Everybody has been working hard ahead of Sunday to earn the victory.”
This season, Villa have won 17 of their 25 Premier League points in front of their own fans, including a last gasp win against Watford last month.
Home form will be crucial as the club bid to avoid relegation, and Trezeguet is determined to repay Villa fans for their support throughout the campaign.
“Every time we play at Villa Park it’s an amazing feeling. We have very good fans that always support us,” he said.
“We always fight for the fans to be happy and we will do everything to make sure the fans are happy at the end of the season.”
