Grealish nominated for Player of the Month Ramsey signs new deal and joins Doncaster on loan
Chester joins Stoke City on loan

James Chester has joined Championship side Stoke City on loan until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old will be looking for regular game-time after returning from a long-term knee injury against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup back in November.

He played 77 minutes as Villa reached the semi-finals, before starting and playing the full 90 minutes against Fulham in the FA Cup on 4th January.

Chester has been an outstanding servant since his arrival from West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2016, making 126 appearances in all competitions and scoring 12 goals, while he has been club captain since the start of the 2018/19 campaign - during which we memorably won promotion back to the Premier League.

A crucial member of the Wales squad that reached the semi-finals of UEFA Euro 2016, Chester will add quality and experience to Michael O'Neill's side, who will be looking to pull themselves away from the Championship drop-zone.

Stoke currently sit one point outside the relegation places, but Chester will join a team that have won three of their four league games in 2020.

We wish James all the best for his loan spell.
