Aston Villa Women begin their FA Cup campaign on Sunday afternoon.
After reaching the Quarter-Finals last year, Gemma Davies’ team will be hoping to pull off an upset against Super League side Brighton.
Villa have been flying in the FA Women’s Championship this season and have already tested themselves against the best in the League Cup.
A win against Liverpool and a narrow loss to Chelsea give them plenty of hope heading into Sunday.
Brighton are currently ninth in the 12-team top tier, having won two of their 13 matches.
The Seagulls are managed by former England boss Hope Powell.
Head Coach Davies has almost a full squad to pick from for this weekend’s game.
Ella Franklin-Fraiture is the only long-term injury absentee after she broke her ankle earlier in the season.
A new pricing structure is in operation for Women’s games during the 2019/20 season, meaning fans will save money by buying online in advance of a fixture.
Tickets cost £5 adults and £2 concessions (U18 and O65) when buying online, as opposed to £7 adults and £3 concessions when purchasing at the turnstile on the day. You can buy your tickets here.
There are also changes for men’s Season Ticket Holders, who will need to claim their free ticket online ahead of any fixture. If the free ticket has not been claimed, men’s Season Ticket Holders will be required to pay the On The Day price of £7 adults and £3 concessions.
Gemma Davies: “The FA Cup is a special competition for every club in the women’s game and we really want to make our mark this year.
“We have great memories of reaching the last eight a year ago and we’re hoping we can pull off an upset this weekend.
“Brighton are a very good team with some quality players, so we know we’re in for a difficult match on Sunday.”
