At a glance

Aston Villa Women are back in league action this weekend when they welcome Lewes to Boldmere.

Gemma Davies’ team are looking to continue their unbeaten start to the season and stay top of the table.

Villa come into the game on the back of successive games away at Coventry United, winning 3-2 in the league before a 2-2 draw in the League Cup in midweek.

Meanwhile, Lewes have lost their last eight matches in all competitions, leaving them sixth in the table.

Team news

Head Coach Davies has almost a full squad to pick from for Sunday’s game.

Ella Franklin-Fraiture is the only long-term injury absentee after she broke her ankle earlier in the season.

Alice Hassall is still working her way back to fitness and while she warmed up with the team ahead of their last game, Sunday will likely come too soon for her.

Tickets

A new pricing structure is in operation for Women’s games during the 2019/20 season, meaning fans will save money by buying online in advance of a fixture.

Tickets cost £5 adults and £2 concessions (U18 and O65) when buying online, as opposed to £7 adults and £3 concessions when purchasing at the turnstile on the day.

You can buy your tickets here. There are also changes for men’s Season Ticket Holders, who will need to claim their free ticket online ahead of any fixture.

If the free ticket has not been claimed, men’s Season Ticket Holders will be required to pay the On The Day price of £7 adults and £3 concessions.

The Boss

Gemma Davies

“It’s great to be back at home after three weeks away, with the good memories from our League Cup win against Liverpool still fresh in our minds.

“That result was the continuation of our great home form and it showed that we can compete against teams from the top division.

“The real strength of Aston Villa Women comes as a collective. This group are a tight-knit bunch and we’ll need that camaraderie as we head into a tough run of fixtures, starting against Lewes.”
