Wesley spoke of his delight at the 5-1 win at Norwich City and roared: “This is what Aston Villa is all about”.
The ace forward was described as “colossal” by Dean Smith after his two goals helped the claret and blues on their way to a comfortable victory at Carrow Road.
The striker himself was thrilled with his contribution and thinks the result can be a springboard for a successful season.
He said: “This weekend, we showed what Aston Villa are all about. We have to continue like this, if we do we will win plenty of games.
"The last game I didn't play well so I had to work very hard. But this weekend I scored two goals, so I'm happy.
“Aston Villa are a great team with big history. When I came here it was to help Aston Villa stay. I have to continue like this in every game.”
Wesley even had time to miss a penalty in the comprehensive victory – as he backed himself to score the next.
He added: "I missed the penalty but the next one, I will score.
"This is my first penalty in the Premier League, I can't be disappointed. The next one I will put inside.”
