Aston Villa Women are delighted to announce that Sian Rogers has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
The goalkeeper has been a standout performer in the current campaign, helping her side climb to second in the FA Women’s Championship with four wins from four games.
Rogers, who spent her youth career at Wolves, Birmingham City and Arsenal, is delighted to have committed her future to Villa.
She said: “I’m excited. When it all came about, I was shocked but also really pleased.
“The hard work I’ve been putting in over the past few seasons has been rewarded and I’m very thankful to the club and the staff here for giving me this opportunity.”
The 21-year-old joined Villa during the 2017/18 season, quickly establishing herself as the club’s number one.
And after two mid-table finishes, Rogers is looking to achieve success in a Villa shirt after penning her new deal.
She said: “Everyone can sense that something special is happening here.
“Our main goal is to get promoted. We want to be playing in the Women’s Super League and for me that is a massive goal.”
“Hopefully, we’ll end up being rewarded for all of our hard work by getting promotion this season.”
Sian and the rest of the Aston Villa Women squad are in the midst of a three-week break in fixtures, with their next game taking place at Boldmere St Michaels FC on 19 October.
