Björn Engels says Wesley only needs one big chance and his Aston Villa goal scoring tally will be up and running.
The defender knows Wesley well having crossed paths at Club Brugge earlier in their careers, and has no doubts he'll be firing for the claret and blues very soon.
The Brazilian striker has been limited to a few half chances in the opening two matches, but has the confidence and trust of his team-mates to take his chances when they come.
Engels said: "I played with him at Brugge two or three years ago.
"He wasn't in the team a lot back then, he was more of a substitute.
"But he improved a lot over the years. I still followed Brugge after I left and he was playing very well.
"He had some great seasons and was important for them.
"He's a top guy and has everything to be a top striker.
"He's got strength, speed and the ability to score goals. He's got everything he needs to be important for us in the Premier League.
"He's not had one big chance yet, maybe one or two small chances.
"When he gets this chance, he'll score it."
