Villa Park will host Aston Villa Women’s FA Women’s Championship clash against Blackburn Rovers on 8th September.
Gemma Davies’ team made a winning start to the season on Sunday, coming from behind to beat Sheffield United 3-2, and they’re hoping for a strong crowd to back them as they look to bolster their promotion push.
A crowd of 1,618 smashed the Women’s attendance record on their last Villa Park outing, against Leicester in January, and Davies is hoping to better that this time around.
She said: “Playing at the club’s home ground is a fantastic opportunity and we had tremendous support when we played there last season.
“We have an exciting team packed full of young talent that supporters are going to love to watch.
“Women’s football has never been in a stronger position at Aston Villa and we’re hoping the fans will turn out in their numbers to see a great game.”
There will be a Fun Zone running in the Academy Building from 10am, with inflatables and a free drop-in football session run by the Aston Villa Foundation to entertain younger fans ahead of kick-off at midday.
