Aston Villa Women kick-off their 2019/20 FA Women’s Championship season with a home tie against Sheffield United.
Excitement around the team is at fever pitch on the back of the Lionesses excelling at the World Cup, a name change and serious investment in the playing squad which has seen eight new signings arrive.
And after an unbeaten pre-season schedule, which saw the side score 14 goals, Villa are raring to go against Sheffield United.
Head Coach Gemma Davies welcomed eight new recruits to the club over the summer and they’re all available to make their competitive debuts.
Melissa Johnson, Emma Follis, Marisa Ewers, Ella Franklin-Fraiture, Charlotte Greengrass, Natalie Haigh, Shania Hayles and Emily Syme have all played some part in pre-season following their respective moves to Villa.
Johnson has been particularly impressive, netting five times in three games, as she pushes for inclusion in the front line.
Alice Hassall is the only long-term absentee after she underwent surgery in the summer.
A new pricing structure is in operation for Women’s games during the 2019/20 season, meaning fans will save money by buying online in advance of a fixture.
Tickets cost £5 adults and £2 concessions (U18 and O65) when buying online, as opposed to £7 adults and £3 concessions when purchasing at the turnstile on the day.
You can buy your tickets here.
There are also changes for men’s Season Ticket Holders, who will need to claim their free ticket online ahead of any fixture.
If the free ticket has not been claimed, men’s Season Ticket Holders will be required to pay the On The Day price of £7 adults and £3 concessions.
