Jota says he and Aston Villa record signing Wesley are bouncing off each other as they continue to settle into life in B6.
Both arrived as two of 12 new signings over the summer, and have wasted no time in striking up a strong bond on and off the field.
Primarily Spanish speaking, the duo have grown close in an attempt to familiarise themselves with their surroundings – as well as form a partnership on the pitch.
Jota said: "Myself and Wesley have got on well since the first day of the pre-season.
"We speak the same language, Spanish. We're very close and spend a lot of time together.
"I help with his English, which is ok already.
"We play well on the pitch together. He knows when to come for the ball and I know when to find him so he can hold it up and I can make my run off of him.
"We're both happy here and are good friends.
"He's a really strong player. He knows when to hold and when to pass it off. I think he'll score a lot of goals for us."
