Jack Grealish has been urged to deliver on the biggest stage this season.
That’s the message from Head Coach Dean Smith, who wants the midfielder to be the claret and blue talisman in the Premier League.
Smith is looking for Grealish to provide a big attacking impetus for the team as we look to make our mark in the top-flight.
I’m ready to showcase my talent in the toughest league in the world.
He said: “I hope I have more goals in the Premier League in my locker. I should have scored more than one, I think.
“Hopefully this season I can make my mark. The manager has already spoken to me about what he wants from me – goals and assists.
“Hopefully I can do that from my midfield position.
“I feel like now is the perfect time for me to come back into the Premier League.
“I’m ready to showcase my talent in the toughest league in the world.”
Grealish is well aware of the threat of Tottenham this weekend, Champions League Finalists in Madrid.
But he stresses that we should focus on ourselves as we aim for a solid start to the 2019/20 campaign.
He added: “You look at their stadium, their players and their manager, everyone knows what a massive club they are.
“But we just have to concentrate on ourselves. We have such a good team here. The owners have invested brilliantly into the club.
“We have brought in a lot of new players. We’ve been brilliant in pre-season so we will focus on ourselves and if we play the way we know we can and to the level we know we can, I am sure we can go there and get a result.”
