Club legend Ian Taylor has pledged to support the Aston Villa Foundation by taking part in this year’s Big Villa Sleep Out.
The former midfielder will be spending a night at Villa Park alongside fellow fundraisers on Friday 11th October, raising money which will be used to support homeless people across the city.
The inaugural Big Villa Sleep Out was held last year, raising over £12,000, and Head of Foundation Guy Rippon is hoping to see the event become bigger and better this year.
He said: “We’re delighted that Ian Taylor will be joining us at the Big Villa Sleep Out.
“Aston Villa fans are always keen to support our events and initiatives and it’s great that one of their heroes will be there alongside them.
“Homelessness is a huge issue in Birmingham and it’s great to see that our club is taking steps to combat it. We have some really innovative plans to use the money from this year’s event to provide year-round support to the homeless.”
Taylor will be joined by League Cup winner Shaun Teale, who will be taking part in the sleep out for the second year running.
Nearly 100 people have signed up to take part but there are still a limited number of places remaining.
