Shania Hayles is delighted to be returning to the club where it all began for her having completed a move from Birmingham City.
The England youth international was part of the Aston Villa Regional Talent Club before she left to join Blues, where she made a name for herself with a number of first team appearances.
But after turning down a new contract, Hayles is desperate to make her mark in the FA Women’s Championship with Gemma Davies’ team.
She said: “This is the club that I came to at 15 from grassroots. I’m happy to be back and looking forward to getting started.
“It was the right decision for me to leave Birmingham and further my career. I’m thankful to everyone there but I’m really happy with the move.”
Hayles took just two minutes to find the net on her first pre-season outing against Stoke, flashing the talent that she brings to the table.
The pacey forward is looking forward to playing in front of the Villa fans, particularly at Villa Park on 8th September, and she’s aiming to bring them success to celebrate.
“Everyone loves to play at the big stadiums – I can’t wait for that. Putting the shirt back on will bring back good memories.
“I want to get back to how I was as a player and rediscover my confidence. As a striker, I also want to be scoring goals and helping the team to get promoted.”
