Jack Grealish says it’s an honour to captain Aston Villa - and a pleasure to skipper such a united squad as we eye promotion.
Grealish was instrumental in another win - our seventh on the spin - as we defeated Rotherham 2-1 away.
He stresses it’s a squad of immense “togetherness” and says there’s a real buzz now for the final run-in.
He told Club TV: “There’s a togetherness.
“That’s what this squad is all about, it’s such a tight knit group.
“We go into training every day and train with a smile on our faces, we’re playing with confidence. Long may it continue.
“I love captaining this group. I want to keep captaining the club and obviously keep winning.
“Hopefully at the end of the season I’ll be at Wembley with a promotion medal around my neck.”
It’s still a long road to that achievement - with the next challenge seeing a tough home clash with Bristol City.
He added: “It’s a massive game. It’s important game.
“They are doing well, too, at the moment.
“But it’s at Villa Park and everyone knows how good we are the moment - never mind just at Villa Park.
“Being at Villa Park gives us that extra boost so hopefully we can get another win on Saturday.”
