Game details

Match: Swansea City U23s v Aston Villa U23s
Date: Friday 15th March 2019
Competition: Premier League Cup
Venue: Landore Training Ground
Kick-off: 7pm

At a glance

Aston Villa U23s head to Swansea City on Friday night for their Premier League Cup last 16 tie.

The fixture is a repeat of last year's final, where our Young Lions lifted the trophy after an enthralling penalty shootout triumph at Liberty Stadium.

Their hopes of defending the title will be tested again this evening when they face the Swans for a place in the quarter-finals.

We comfortably progressed through the group stage again this term – winning four out of six.

Villa go into the tie following back-to-back Premier League 2 wins, where they've now all but secured a place in the end-of-season Play-Off places.

Team news

Mark Delaney is expected to field a strong side once again as we look to make the last eight.

Mainstays Jack Clarke, Easah Suliman and Harvey Knibbs are likely to start.

The team's sprinkling of U18 stardust will also play a big part – the likes of Lewis Brunt, Jacob Ramsey, Cameron Archer and Tyreik Wright.
