Dean Smith hopes to have Lovre Kalinic available for the clash with Stoke City.

Kalinic was substituted at half-time in the derby clash with West Brom after taking a knock to the head.

Smith revealed that Kalinic was currently adhering to “concussion protocol” and the goalkeeper will be assessed on Friday ahead of the weekend Potters game.

Tom Carroll is back in training after missing out against Sheffield United, Brentford and West Brom.

The clash at the Britannia Stadium will come too soon for the central midfielder.

However, Smith is hopeful Carroll will be fit to face Derby the following weekend.

Jack Grealish, who has been out for over two months, is making good progress and continues to build up his fitness to the required levels ahead of being reintroduced into the team.

Smith expects Axel Tuanzebe, who is currently rehabbing at Manchester United, to be back at Bodymoor Heath in early March - and initial hopes are that he could be available just after the international break.

John McGinn misses the Stoke City and Derby County encounters due to suspension.
