Villa Park will pay tribute to an Aston Villa great this weekend.
Fans will rise to applaud Ian Ross just before kick-off as we remember our League Cup-winning captain of 1975, who also helped us to two promotions in 1972 and 1975.
Our players will wear black armbands in tribute to Ross.
We will also remember England legend, Gordon Banks, who passed away this week.
We will join the football world in mourning the death of Banks, a true legend of the game who enjoyed World Cup glory with the Three Lions in 1966.
Head Coach Dean Smith said: "Ian Ross was a really good player and I was actually really fortunate to be coached by him for a few months.
"I was lucky to be able to take some knowledge from him and he certainly helped in my development.
"My condolences go to his family at this time. They're really good people.
"A lot has been said about the person Gordon Banks was too, as well as the footballer.
"I had the honour of meeting him a couple of times. He was a really humble man."
