Birmingham Senior Cup: Young Lions contest quarter-final at Hednesford

Game details

Match: Hednesford Town v Aston Villa
Date: Tuesday 22nd January 2019
Competition: Birmingham Senior Cup
Venue: Keys Park
Kick-off: 7.45pm

At a glance

Aston Villa go to Hednesford Town on Tuesday evening seeking a place in the Birmingham Senior Cup semi-finals.

The Young Lions have got past Coleshill Town and Stratford Town en route to the last eight – emerging victorious via a penalty shootout last time around.

Hednesford are riding high in this competition themselves, having knocked out Birmingham City in round two back in November.

Team news

A mixture of Aston Villa U18s and U23s have started our last two Birmingham Senior Cup matches.

Alex Prosser and Harvey Knibbs are the more experienced players to have featured from the U23s.

We could also see a host of the U18s that progressed in the FA Youth Cup this time last week, such as Jacob Ramsey, Colin Odutayo and Tyreik Wright.

Tickets are available on the gate at Keys Park.

Prices are set at £7 (adults), £5 (concessions) and £2 (U16s).

Travel update

There may be some traffic disruption this evening at the entrance to Keys Park.

The housing developers that are working adjacent to the site have installed four-way traffic control today at the main island near the ground.

These traffic lights are not causing any issues at present but may cause some delays with the rush hour traffic around 6pm this evening.
