Dean Smith was at his engaging best as he delighted a packed-out audience and raised money for charity at his ‘Evening With’.
Smith will be delivering instructions to his players tonight ahead of the Hull City game.
But 24 hours earlier, he was wowing claret and blue supporters with a Q&A, which covered topics like his background, his style of play and his hopes for a bright future for the club he loves so dearly.
The event itself was a huge success as it raised £8,000 for the Aston Villa Foundation, the club’s charity which does so much good work in the region.
It was hosted by Sky Sports reporter Rob Dorsett and also attended by club heroes Brian Little and Ian Taylor.
Guy Rippon, Head of Foundation and Community Partnerships, said: “It was a fantastic event. Dean has been very supportive of the community work at his previous clubs and has already proven this to be the case at Aston Villa.
“He is obviously very passionate about the club and understands the value of the club connecting with supporters and community.
“It was terrific to have proceeds from the event donated to the Foundation to help us increase our community activities.
“Perhaps, more importantly, Dean has helped us to raise the profile of the Foundation and increase awareness among fans by showcasing our work.”
