James Bree stresses there’s a renewed focus to get our season back on track – after a thorough debrief this week.
The claret and blues came together to discuss the defeat to Wigan Athletic and Bree says that sit-down discussion was detailed and helpful.
Now Bree says the players are raring to go as we face Hull this Saturday, kick-off 3pm.
He told Club TV: “It was a tough game overall at Wigan – and a tough result.
“No-one wants to go away and lose 3-0, especially with a performance like that.
“The fans will have been disappointed. The players were all gutted with it.
“We sat down this week and went over the game for an hour and spoke about everything. We came together as a team and said what we have to do better and also what we’re going to take forward.
“We need to raise our energy levels and performance levels in the next game and hopefully then we can get back on track.
“If you’re losing 3-0 to anyone you know you need to look at yourself. I think that’s what we need to do. We have 19 games remaining now. I think we need to be pressing for another unbeaten run.”
It’s back-to-back home games now and Bree is relishing heading back to Villa Park for the matches with Hull and Ipswich.
He added: “It’s the perfect time to go back to Villa Park now. It’s a great time for the home crowd to get right behind us and give us that little push that we need at that moment.”
