In freezing conditions in B6, the ebb and flow of the match at least warmed us up as we twice came from behind to seal a valuable point.

It was goalless at the break but there were chances for both teams – Joe Allen and James McClean for the Potters and Conor Hourihane and Anwar El Ghazi for the Villans.

Our visitors opened the scoring early in the second half when Allen burst into the box to drill home.

The response was strong as sub Jonathan Kodjia earned a penalty after being pulled down in the box – and Tammy Abraham fired home.

Another sub, Benik Afobe, restoted the advantage for our visitors with another spot-kick after Ahmed Elmohamady had brought down McClean.

But we weren’t to be beaten as Kodjia headed home wonderfully with six minutes remaining following a pinpoint Yannick Bolasie cross from the right.
