5 reasons to be here for Stoke City

Our next home game is just around the corner, and it's another big one, with Stoke City descending on Villa Park on Saturday 15th December.

Here's five reasons to get yourself down to the stadium this time around..

1) Big games keep coming

By the time the Stoke match comes around, we'd have played Derby County, Birmingham City, Nottingham Forest, Middlesbrough and West Bromwich Albion back-to-back.

And the meeting with the Potters isn't the end of clashes with the frontrunners or early-season favourites, either, with Leeds United and Swansea City following on from it.

Stoke, in many people's eyes, were heading for automatic promotion this term, and still remain in the hunt as we approach the halfway stage.

Be here and watch two of the division's biggest clubs collide.

2) Tracking well

A total of 33,500 tickets have already been sold for the visit of Stoke City - and the Upper Trinity stand has now been opened for the Potters clash.

Now it's a case of pushing for a sell-out.

It's the third time in just a few months that we've opened the top tier, after sell-outs against Swansea City and Birmingham City.

It's also happening against Leeds - so great work in backing the boys in such big numbers!

3) Goals galore

Villa Park has been treated to an average of three claret and blue goals per match since Dean Smith arrived – and an average of almost five in total!

It's 19 for us altogether under Smith's tenure, following another convincing 3-0 triumph at Middlesbrough at the weekend. We're now the second highest scorers in the Sky Bet Championship, too – just three shy of West Bromwich Albion, who we play this Friday.

Who knows, by the time the Stoke game is finished, we could find ourselves at the top of the divisional goalscoring charts!

4) Saturday, 3pm

They've been few and far between of late, but we finally kick-off at 3pm on a Saturday against Stoke City!

We've had Friday nights, late Saturday games and even Sunday matches these last few months, but finally return to a more traditional traditional start time against the Potters.

So for the purists who look forward to the standard kick-off time, this one's for you. It's also our last of 2018!

With two hours of bottomless prosecco, live music, a festive grazing menu, cash bar and a Harvey Nichols mini-shop, it's the perfect way to relax and snap up those last-minute Christmas gifts.
