Yannick Bolasie says achieving promotion to the Premier League with Aston Villa remains his ambition for this season.
The tricky forward has now started the last two games after building up his fitness – starring and assisting a goal in his latest showing at Middlesbrough at the weekend.
Bolasie and Anwar El Ghazi put in brilliant shifts either side of Tammy Abraham up top to make it 13 points from the last 15 available.
He now wants to maintain that momentum as the big fixtures continue to come thick and fast over the festive period.
He said: "I don't like to get ahead of ourselves and don't want to add any pressure.
"But I do see us as a top two team in this league. My vision when I came here was exactly that.
"Hopefully it can happen and we can take these results and not get carried away.
"We've got a tough few games coming up, with West Brom, Stoke City and Leeds United next. It's our biggest run so far.
"We've got to show our quality and be level headed going into them."
