International report: Bjarnason goal in France draw, McGinn/Chester defeats, Abraham through to Finals

Birkir Bjarnason scored for Iceland in their 2-2 friendly draw with France.

Bjarnason bagged in the 30th minute at Stade du Roudourou in Guingamp before Kari Arnason doubled the advantage in the 58th minute.

The world champions stormed back in the latter stages, however, with Holmar Eyjólfsson sending home an unfortunate own-goal on 86 minutes before Kylian Mbappe levelled matters in the final minute.

James Chester played the second half as Wales went down 4-1 at home to Spain in a friendly at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.

Paco Alcacer (2), Sergio Ramos and Bartra were all on target before Sam Vokes hit a late consolation.

John McGinn played all 90 minutes as Scotland went down 2-1 in Israel in the UEFA Nations League.

Charlie Mulgrew opened the scoring on 25 minutes for former Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish’s men but they were undone in the second half.

Dor Peretz levelled matters on 52 minutes but an own-goal by Kieran Tierney on 74 minutes ensured defeat for the Scots.

Tammy Abraham was an unused sub as England U21s beat their Andorra counterparts 7-0 in their UEFA European Championship qualifier at the Proact Stadium in Chesterfield.

The result helped secure a place at the Finals, which take place in Italy and San Marino next June.
