Partnering with Birmingham-founded fashion brand, Luke 1977 has been a source of great pride for Aston Villa – and it’s these city connections that were promoted in the official kit photoshoot.

Led by Luke Roper, Creative Director of Luke 1977 and staunch Villa fan, the photoshoot took place on the rooftop of the Custard Factory.

Billed as “the UK’s leading destination for creative businesses” it was the perfect location as we looked to showcase our home and away kits for 2018/19.

The kit project has been nurtured delicately and respectfully by Roper – a passionate man who loves Villa and adores the city of Birmingham – alongside Fanatics.

On the day the kit partnership was announced, Roper rallied around the strengths of the city and spoke passionately about both the future – the impending Commonwealth Games of 2022 - but also the past when the Industrial Revolution saw the Midlands as the Engine Room of the world.

For now the focus is firmly on the present – and the classy kits that Aston Villa players will wear for the 2018/19 campaign.
