Villa v Middlesbrough: Ticket collection advice Team news: Our line-up for Play-Off decider
RIP Jlloyd Samuel

Aston Villa is deeply saddened to learn of the death of our former defender Jlloyd Samuel at the age of just 37.

As a mark of respect, our players will sport black armbands during tonight's Championship Play-Off sem-final second leg against Middlesbrough.

Samuel enjoyed an eight-year stint at Villa Park between 1999 and 2007, making 200 appearances and scoring three goals in that time.

A part of the squad that made it to Wembley for the FA Cup Final in 2000, he was a much loved figure during his time in B6.

His career later saw him represent Bolton Wanderers and Cardiff City before pursuing a move to Iran in 2011.

He represented his native Trinidad and Tobago on two occasions.
