Ahmed Elmohamady: The teams and players I want to draw at the FIFA World Cup
Ahmed Elmohamady has named two teams he'd love to play at next year's FIFA World Cup in Russia ahead of today's group stage draw.
Elmo recently helped Egypt to qualify for the tournament for the first time since 1990, and will appear in the showpiece alongside Villa team-mates Birkir Bjarnason and Mile Jedinak.
Ahead of today's 3pm draw, the right-back told us who he wished to pit his wits against next summer.
He said: "I'd like to play Portugal and England, and avoid Argentina and Brazil.
"I want to play against Portugal because I really like Cristiano Ronaldo. I've never faced him before.
"When I came over to England he'd just left to go to Real Madrid.
"Australia would be a good draw too – against Mile Jedinak. He wouldn't score a hat-trick against me, that's for sure!
"It's going to be interesting – we're looking forward to it."
Speaking generally about the tournament and his nation's expectations, Elmohamady says he's targeting the knockout places.
He added: "It's huge for everybody in Egypt and they will want us playing against the best countries.
"But as players we have to focus on the three group games we have and try to win them. If we could get out of the group, that'd be great.
"We haven't been to a World Cup for a long time and have some good players. We'll be confident and take anyone on."
