Analysis

Villa U23s were defeated 3-0 by Blackburn Rovers at Bodymoor Heath in their latest Premier League 2 Division 2 encounter.

Callum Wright, Lewis Mansell and Daniel Butterworth were all on target for the visitors on an afternoon to forget for our Young Lions.

The likes of Easah Suliman, Jake Doyle-Hayes, Jordan Lyden and Harry McKirdy all returned to the side after missing the PL Cup tie at Ipswich Town a fortnight ago.

However, they were all limited to few chances by a strong Rovers side who now top the Division 2 standings.

The claret and blues will look to bounce back this Sunday when they travel east to face Norwich City at Carrow Road.
